Talisay City is still in shambles after Typhoon Tino (internationally known as Kalmaegi) lashed Cebu province on November 4, 2025.
The Mananga Bridge II, which connects the Mananga River to the sea, has temporarily been closed due to structural damage. Portions of the riprap riverwalls collapsed, sweeping away houses of residents under the bridge and were swept away by strong flash floods. Residents reported that they’ve seen extreme widening of the Mananga River.
Locals told Bulatlat that flood control projects in their area appear inconsistent. Some sections have riverwalls while others have none. They alleged that the projects were handled by different contractors, with some structures appearing far more durable than others.
For over three days, local residents living under the Mananga Bridge said that they haven’t received any relief support from the local government.
