Visual artists showcase people’s resistance
November 13, 2025

“Hardware 3: Resistance is Fertile” exhibit opens tonight at Kaida Contemporary Gallery, Quezon City. The exhibit features the works of progressive artists and journalists: Alfredo and Isabel Aquilizan, Jes Aznar, Mideo Cruz, Antipas Delotavo, Boy Dominguez, Manny Garibay, Renato Habulan, Boyet de Mesa, Nonito Pongan, Cap Reyes, and Jose Tence Ruiz.

“The artists of Hardware 3 have spent decades as witness/participant to the repudiation of normalizing any variant of slavery, whether by self-proclaimed monarchy, militaristic suppression, systemic conquest, and colonization or technical or technocratic totalitarianism, one symptom of which is the singularization of opinion through grand empires of media and consciousness, or centralized control through armies and synthetic, now cybertronic intelligence,” curator Jose Tence Ruiz writes.
