March 29, 2010

Darkness swept over Davao City, as hundreds of Davaoenos lighted candles in commemoration of Earth Hour on Saturday. Kabataan Party-list-Davao City staged a snake rally, denouncing the Arroyo administration for the outright sell-out of the country’s natural resources to foreign multi-national corporations.

Meanwhile, members of Katribu Partylist held a discussion about the climate crisis during the 60-minute lights off. Katribu said that the solution to the climate change does not end at the one-hour affair, but requires a long-term, sustainable, and ‘green’ economic and power programs at the grassroots and national levels.(Photos by Karlos Manlupig and Katribu Party-list)
