The International Criminal Court is scheduled to conduct the confirmation of charges hearing against former Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte.
Duterte is accused of crimes against humanity for implementing a deadly “war on drugs” during his administration.

ICC’s ongoing hearing is important as the Philippine justice system makes it hard for victims and survivors to fight back against a state-enforced policy.

This fear was also experienced by Dahlia Cuartero, mother of drug war victim Jesus Daboy. During the homily, Cuartero said that she was harassed by Duterte supporters who sent messages through her social media account.
