Photo of the Week: Making Ends Meet
August 1, 2010

Creativity in making ends meet is the rule of survival as shown by this woman who at first glance appears to pick sea shells by the seashore [pun intended]. She is actually scrounging for coco shells beached by the waves. She’s going to make charcoal and sell it to buy rice. In Davao Oriental, coconut charcoal fetch much better prices than copra.
