Residents of Brgy. Bagong Silangan in Quezon City were some of the 5,353 families who suffered the onslaught of typhoon Ondoy in September 2009.

One year, Bulatlat revisited Bagong Silangan to see how the residents were able to recover and get back to their normal lives.

Residents recount their experiences during and after Ondoy, how it washed away their houses and their means of livelihood.

They also narrate how their lives were changed by the typhoon and the trauma it caused them.

They are also outraged at the local government for taking them for granted.
