The International Association of Democratic Lawyers (IADL) supports the case filed with the International Criminal Court (ICC) against President Rodrigo Duterte and the UN Human Rights Council resolution seeking to investigate the human rights situation in the Philippines. It vowed to support the filing of other suits against Duterte “for violations of international human rights law.”
John Milton Lozande, secretary general of National Federation of Sugar Workers (NFSW), was freed Nov. 11. Anne Krueger of alternative media Paghimutad and organizer of BPO Industry Employees Network Philippines (BIEN) and Danilo Tabura, NFSW paralegal officer, walked out of jail yesterday, Nov. 12 while Roberto Lachica, NFSW staff, was released this afternoon.

With or without the CPP-NPA, there are just reasons for the people to resist and build a strong movement against authoritarian regimes. And paranoid governments would always clamp down on critics and dissenters whether the opposition is religious, the wealthy, foreign-backed, or communist.
Most of the victims who fell prey to the bloodied claws of tokhang are economic providers in their respective families. Evidently, the result of this senseless war on drugs has exacerbated the already precarious state of poor families in this barangay.
Mahalaga ring tingnan na ang kalimitang nagiging biktima ng lindol ang mga sektor na bulnerable at walang kakanyahang makaaagapay sa dagdag na pahirap na idudulot ng kalamidad. Kung ang isang maralita, naulila, walang trabaho, at walang tirahan ang mabiktima ng lindol, higit na magiging trahedya ito sa kanya at maaaring magdulot ng higit na kahirapan na magdadala sa kanya sa kalagayang hindi na makakaahon. Dito dapat papasok ang institusyonal na suporta sa mga nasalanta.
